Generosity comes in many forms, and it’s most often the best way for you to support important causes that matter most to you in your life. When you give to Bridge View Center, you help us make a difference in our Ottumwa community.
With support from our generous donors, Bridge View Center has played an integral part of Ottumwa’s development since it opened its doors more than 16 years ago. From small gatherings of out-of-town business professionals to dance recitals and community theater performances to 3,000 music fans, Bridge View Center has helped bring the performing arts and culture to Ottumwa and our SE Iowa region while also serving as an economic driver for our Ottumwa community.
Since January 2007, Bridge View Center has delivered more than a $100 million economic impact to our community, and in the past year, BVC provided a nearly $9 million economic impact to our community. BVC is serving our community as an economic driver for businesses.
Bridge View Center has something for everyone and serves as the main event venue for Ottumwa. Events have included adult and children’s community theatre, two symphony orchestras, farm show, bull riding, sporting events, elections, debates and campaign appearances, theatrical performances, comedians, national touring shows, concerts, conventions, education seminars, weddings, and quinceañeras.
BVC has been well maintained and well used these past 16 years. Therefore, it needs some improvements and updates including audio-visual equipment and audio systems, rigging to better support the increasing demands of national touring artists, carpet, HVAC roof-top units, paint and finish work, and equipment to better meet the needs of our events today.
In response to these needs, the BVC Board of Directors has initiated the Capital Endowment Campaign with the goal of raising $2 million by December 2024. The $2 million will be set aside in an endowment fund that will provide annual support for one-time capital improvement projects.
Your meaningful gift will continue to help bridge the gap and strengthen our position to ensure a bright and sustainable future and Bridge View Center remains a proud achievement for our community. It is important to remember the power of the performing arts to connect us as a community! We are grateful for your consideration!
