High Society Big Band recreates the swinging jazz sounds of the Big Band era of 1930s and 1940s with all those golden hits. Performing compositions that span an entire century of music, including standards made famous by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Harry James, and Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey. High Society Big Band has an active library of hundreds of compositions, from jumping jive to slow and sweet, all to bring the brassy Big Band era alive. The foundation of the band’s repertoire is based firmly in the classic swing era of the 1930s and 1940s with all those golden hits. High Society Big Band has performed for events throughout the state of Iowa from jazz festivals and traditional ballrooms, to the Iowa State Fair.
Adult tickets for single performance is $15 and Free for Students. Tickets will be available at the door.
Ottumwa Civic Music Association season passes are $35 for Adults & free for Students. Season passes allow attendance to 4 OCMA concerts at Bridge View Center and at 14 reciprocity concerts of their partners.
