Ottumwa Community Children's Playhouse presents God Rest Ye Gerry Mentlemen
Gerry Mentlemen has everything, but he wants more and he doesn’t care who he steps on to get it! He sets up a meeting with the famous retailer Mr. Tannebaum to discuss a power-grabbing merger. When the man everyone assumes to be Mr. Tannebaum begins making strange requests, Gerry takes a heart-opening and entertaining journey through his community. There is a performance of The Nutcracker that very nearly becomes a brawl, a community center party that features dancing elves, and a visit with a surprising friend Gerry didn’t know he had. As the mysterious “Mr. Tannebaum” tells Gerry, “You can want and want and want, and it will never be enough until you have the best gift — the baby of Bethlehem — in your heart. He will always be enough.” A timely, contemporary story, God Rest Ye, Gerry Mentlemen is filled with the familiar songs of Christmas tucked in a funny, heart-warming story.
