The first annual Meet Ottumwa: Meet Your Destiny tournament will be hosted at the lovely Bridge View Center in Ottumwa, Iowa on June 24th-25th! Come join us for two days of games, competition, and fun as we celebrate video games in the state of Iowa and offer a space for our state’s rising talent to show off their skills!
Each day, check-in will be open from 8:00am-9:45am. Games begin at 10:00am.
Each day will have one PC title and one Nintendo Switch title. Participants will need to provide their own peripherals, including keyboards, mice, headsets, and controllers.
Coaches/sponsors will need to register individual students or teams using the links provided at the bottom of this document. Students may NOT register themselves.
Students MUST attend under the supervision of a coach/sponsor
Any high school students grades 9-12, as well as 2022 high school graduates, are eligible to compete. Students may compete on both days, but many only be signed up for one title per day as matches will overlap.
League of Legends and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be on Friday ONLY
Rocket League and Mario Kart 8 DX will be on Saturday ONLY
Titles will be operated in the following formats, with other specific details to be decided by the individuals running each event:
League of Legends: best of 1 pool play and bracket play (8 teams max)
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 1v1 double elimination (64 players max)
Rocket League: 3v3 pool and bracket play (10 teams max)
Mario Kart 8 DX: free-for-all races and bracket play (64 players max)
In addition to the tournaments being offered, we will have:
Booths and tables with college representatives and recruiters who will be actively scouting at the event
The Drone Soccer League will be holding two live demonstrations, one on Friday and one on Saturday
“Father of Esports” Walter Day and representatives from the Video Game Hall of Fame will be in attendance for meet and greet
Streaming of select matches on a large 40ft display on campus
Spectator seating and concessions available on-site
The top competitors will have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes, including:
Gaming peripheral packages from Gravity Gaming by ByteSpeed
Gaming chairs from Spectrum Industries
Game console cabinets from Spectrum Industries
Concession stands will be open for both days of the tournament.
Hotel accommodations are located within a short distance of the Bridge View Center.

In order to accurately track registrations and ensure students will be properly supervised at the event, coaches/sponsors should be the ones to register AND attend this event with their students. So, Coaches or Sponsors ONLY should follow the links below to register for competition. Each title has its own specific Google Form, and admission is completely FREE!
If you need to register multiple students for Smash Bros. or Mario Kart, please fill out the form for EACH student individually, rather than submitting once for all students. This will help us track numbers and aid in seeding.
The deadline to sign-up for these titles is Tuesday, June 21st at 11:59pm CST.
